Health and activity data
Khotwa reads steps, distance, active energy, exercise minutes, workouts and their routes from Apple Health, and — if you allow it — your height, weight, date of birth and biological sex, which are used only to make distance and calorie estimates more accurate.
This data stays on your device. It is used to calculate your score, your load and your daily forecast, all of which are computed locally. Khotwa does not upload your Health data, and does not share it with anyone.
What leaves your device
Only if you create an account, and only what a social feature needs: your display name, username, optional profile photo, a daily and weekly step total, your streak, and — if you opt in to the city leaderboard — the name of your city. Never your route, never your location coordinates.
Your hour-by-hour activity stays on your device unless you attach a day to a post yourself, in which case that day’s shape is what the ring on the card is drawn from.
The community feed
If you post, comment or react, that goes to other people — it is the point of the feature, and worth being exact about.
Sharing with everyone is off until you turn it on, in Settings or on the card in the feed. Until then your posts reach only people you have added as friends. When it is on, anyone using Khotwa can see your display name, your profile photo, what you wrote, the step count or workout you chose to attach, and your city if you have set one — never your neighbourhood, your route or your coordinates. You can turn it off again at any time.
Khotwa never attaches your steps to a post on its own. A post carries numbers only when you tick the day or the workout you want to show.
Keeping the feed usable
Anything you write for other people to read — a post, a comment — is checked by an automated model before it is published, and refused if it looks abusive. The text is sent to the model provider for that check and is not kept by them.
If you report something, we store what was reported, who reported it and the text itself, so a person can review it — kept even if the author deletes it, or there would be nothing to review. Reports are not visible to the person reported. Blocking someone is recorded on your own account and is not shared with them.
Location
Location is used while a walk is recording, to draw its route and measure distance. The route is saved to Apple Health on your device. It is not uploaded. Background location runs only during an active session, and iOS shows its indicator the whole time.
The AI features
Khotwa Pro can generate a coaching reply and a share-card background. When you use one, a short summary — step counts, distance, time of day, and a coarse place name if you have one — is sent to the model provider to produce the response. Your identity, your Health records and your route are not sent.
Deleting everything
Settings → Delete account removes your profile, username, friends, conversations, invite code, sign-in credential, and everything you posted — including comments and reactions you left on other people’s posts — permanently. Health data on your device belongs to Apple Health and is unaffected; delete it there if you want it gone.
You can also delete a single post or comment at any time without deleting your account. There is no editing: a post that people have already reacted to cannot quietly become a different post.
